Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! Are you done buying holiday gifts for your loved ones? I bet, the kids are excited for Santa’s gifts. I remember when I was kid, I get really excited on Christmas Eve because I thought Santa would give me gifts until my grandma blew it, she told me that there was no Santaclaus at all - it was my father. I was so upset upon learning this fact. So, after then, we stopped putting stockings behind our doors. But anyhow, Have you been wondering how and when Christmas stockings and gifts started? Well, here is the story behind this Christmas tradition. In 17 centuries ago in Turkey, a bishop of Myra named Nicholas was known for love of children and benevolence. On every Christmas Eve, he used to secretly and surprisingly give gifts to the children in the town. On Christmas Eve, while he passed by a house, he heard a father and three daughters mourning about their poverty. They used to live abundantly but when their mother died of illness and after losing their money in useless and bad inventions. They moved into a peasant’s cottage, they were discussing on how they were not able to be married because they can’t afford nor provide a dowry which was the traditional thing to do at that time. Knowing the grief and despair, St. Nicholas felt pity on them. He looked in the window and observed that they were sleeping. He threw three small bags of gold in the chimney and landed in the stockings that had been hung over the fireplace to dry. St. Nicholas was caught in the act by their father which whom he begged to keep his secret. Guess what? Their father could not help to keep his mouth from telling the incident. The entire village learned from it days later. The three daughters were able to get married and lived happily. After that, hanging of stockings became a tradition on Christmas Eve. That’s how Christmas stockings started

Windows Update

Microsoft just issued a critical security warning or a security patch through its automatic update system to patch users computers. Nowadays, your computer can get infected in two ways:

1.Visit a malicious web site that already has the malware installed on the site.
2.Visit a legitimate site, wherein the attacker has inserted the malicious script to run in the background. It leaves visitors unaware their systems have been compromised.That’s why I am really meticulous in visiting sites. I know, we can’t really avoid virus. We just have to be careful. Oh boy, it is not easy to wipe out malware and reformat computer. It takes hours to do this.

Actually, I set up my Windows updates daily. To manually download available updates, go to Microsoft Update or in Windows Vista go to your control panel. After your computer has been scanned to see which updates it needs, click the Custom button to find and choose the update you want to install. Install all High-Priority Security and Critical updates immediately. But usually updates conveyed routinely to your PC. When your computer is on and connected to the Internet, the most current security updates are automatically downloaded and installed. If you haven’t updated your windows yet, update it now.

I've neglected this blog

Oh, I was out of touch in this blog. I should spend more time writing some articles here. It seems like I've neglected this blog. I should have not done that. I've been so busy with my other blogs and the Entrecard dropping. My last post was November 12. Geez! That was a month ago. I feel so bad about it. But I am going to try or should I say do my best to update this blog every day even just a post of 50 or 100 words a day. And plus, I was considering on buying a domain for this blog so I can get more opportunities in the future. I don't have any problems with web hosting because I just had a one-year subscription. I'd probably purchase a domain on Monday.

new layout

I just changed the layout here. I hope I use it for a while. I hate changing layouts every n ow and then. It just takes time to search and look for layouts or themes on the net. By the way, I got this layout at BTemplates.com. They have a wide selection of beautiful layouts exclusively for Blogger users. All you have to do is download the layout, unzip it and then upload it. As easy as that!

to buy a domain or not?

I don't know if I want to buy a domain for this blog. I learned that having an owned domain is more profitable than free sub-domains. I can't decide yet. I don't have enough funds for it though it is not really that much. I want to monetize this blog that's why I created it. We will see in the coming days. I am having a dilemma right now.

no final layout yet

I haven't decided yet as to what theme or layout I should use. I really don't like to change layout so often. It could be a hassle. I still want to put more widgets on this blog like the Alexa, Entrecard, Technorati and more. I have downloaded a blogger layout and I still have to upload it later. I really want to update this blog daily as much as I can. I hope this blog would get high Google Page Rank. One of things to gain Google PR is to update your site always, if possible everyday - even just one post.

Google Cache

Wow, I haven't posted in this blog for almost a week now. I still have to do a lot of things here. I forgot if I already submitted this blog site to Google so it will be cached. How important is Google cache? Actually, Google takes a snapshot of your site. Google examines and caches, meaning stores, that version as a back-up. This "cached version" is what Google uses to judge if a page is a good match for your query. In the case, the my site is down or something happened with my web host, I can access back and restore all my posts or my site from the Google cache. However, I heard that Google cache updates frequently. They said it depends on the site, if you have good inbound links, your site will likely be cached everyday. I just checked if this blog is already cached by Google, but unfortunately, not yet! Well, I hope in the coming days. So, if you want to know if your site is cached by Google. Go to Google search, type in cache:yoursite.com. Then, you will see your homepage and the date it was cached.
